Customers will connect MW75 Neuro to the Neurable iOS or Android app, where you can start focus sessions, receive personalized break recommendations, review focus measurements, and receive insights to improve focus habits.
When your brain is focused, it produces unique brainwaves that MW75 Neuro can detect using Neurable proprietary focus algorithm. Neurable developed this algorithm using hundreds of hours of experimental data and validated with thousands of hours of testing. More information is available in Neurable’s White Paper.
MW75 Neuro monitors your focus level and generates prompts to take Brain Breaks when you need to recharge. Neurable has tested this feature in partnership with the Mayo Clinic with rave reviews from participants. Not only did participants feel better after taking Brain Breaks, they liked the Brain Breaks more than regularly scheduled breaks recommended by scientific studies.
The brainwave sensors are woven into the soft ear cushions. To connect the sensors, simply put on the headphones and move the hair away from the ear cushions so that the cushions contact the skin around your ear. The mobile app provides instructions for how to wear the headphones to ensure the best quality brainwave data, including live feedback.
MW75 Neuro can store up to 16 hours of data about your focus. If you have not connected to the app in a while, MW75 Neuro will keep the most recent 16 hours.
When MW75 Neuro is using ANC while its brainwave sensors on, it will need to recharge after about 8 hours. When looking to extend battery life, you can turn off the brainwave sensors and ANC for a play time of about 32 hours.
Neurable is releasing a research kit and developer kit that will enable developers and researchers to access raw data and build applications with the data from MW75 Neuro.
No. MW75 Neuro does not stimulate brain activity or inject electrical signals into your brain. In the same way a smartwatch measures your heart rate but does not try to change your heart rate, MW75 Neuro measures your brainwaves but does not change your brainwaves.
Neurable stores basic information for your account like email address and password. This information enables you to access your account.
Neurable also stores some data about yourself that helps to optimize your experience for you: your first name, birth year, and if you are left-handed or right-handed. The app will display your first name in the app home screen. We have found that your age and left vs. right hand preference are the biggest factors that can cause variations in brainwaves.
Neurable stores data about your focus and the quality of the brainwave signals. Neurable uses the focus data to present focus metrics to customers in the mobile app, and Neurable uses the brainwave signal quality to optimize the performance of the product.
To store your focus data, Neurable uses Amazon's AWS service with best in class security. When you create a Neurable account, you are required to use a password that is at least 12 characters, which would take about three years for a hacker to crack.
At Neurable, we want it to be as easy as possible for customers to use the MW75 Neuro smart headphones. You probably already work or study with headphones. By integrating brainwave sensors into a device you already use while working or studying, it makes it easy to integrate into your routine. Also, it helps that headphones are something you wear on your head!
The app is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
The data is encrypted in the headphones. Then it is de-identified and stored in encrypted databases in secured locations accessible only to the security engineers. Neurable will never sell your data. Your data is yours.
Neuralink's device requires a surgically implanted electrodes in your brain. Neurable's MW75 Neuro smart headphones are like a normal high-end pair of headphones with non-invasive fabric EEG brain sensors.
In 2024, we have a greater appreciation for mental health than we have ever had before. We have a lot of tools to measure sleep and activity but so few to help us understand ourselves from a mental perspective. Neurotechnology can change that because it's dealing with actual brain data!
EEG works by safely collecting electrical signals produced by your brain. Groups of millions of neurons produce these electrical signals called brainwaves, and EEG sensors safely detect large changes in brainwaves. Hans Berger was the first person to use EEG sensors in 1924, and EEG is now used in university labs all over the world.
EEG is a completely safe technology that causes no discomfort. It is solely "listening" to the buzz of activity in your brain.
Neurable has built algorithms that identify patterns in your brainwaves. If you're focused, MW75 Neuro sees different patterns than if you're not focused. Just for fun, we name each algorithm after a Pokemon.
If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can return your MW75 Neuro within 14 days.
The best way to get in touch with Neurable support would be through our support form, or by emailing support@neurable.com.
You can delete your account in the Neurable app for iOS or Android or you can send an email to: support@neurable.com to request an account deletion.
Neurable uses a definition by one of the leading experts on focus and productivity, Dr. Gloria Mark. She writes: “Focus represents a temporal state when people feel absorbed in an activity and the activity generally requires some degree of challenge to a person’s skill set. Being highly engaged and challenged in work is correlated with motivation, activation, concentration, creativity and satisfaction."
By reading your brainwaves and categorizing different frequencies, we can detect which frequencies are showing up more strongly at any given time. Based on that, we can estimate your current mental state, how much effort you are putting into a given task, and whether you are switching between mental states (possibly because you switched to a new task). You can read more about EEG in our blog.
MW75 Neuro’s EEG sensors detect the electrical signals produced by the billions on neurons in your brain. Neurable's signal processing technology cleans the EEG data and uses it estimates your Focus Level. Similar to how fitness trackers record metrics about your workout, MW75 Neuro records your focus. During a Focus Session Your focus metrics are stored in the MW75 Neuro's memory chip until you end your Focus Session.Data will then be sent over Bluetooth connection to the Neurable mobile app and to Neurable's secure servers.
1. **Session Summary.** After recording a Focus Session, you will see a summary of your focus data for the session. This summary includes: - The number of Focus Points you’ve earned for that session - you earn 2 Focus Points for each minute when your Focus Level is high or medium, and 1 Focus Point per minute when you are in low Focus. To start with, your goal is to earn 100 points each day. - A Focus Timeline shows your Focus level for each minute during your Focus Session. Focus Level is measured from 0 to 100. Low Focus is 0-30, medium focus is 31-70, and high focus is 70-100. Gray shaded bars indicate when you paused your Focus Session or when you took a recommended Brain Break. - Above the Focus Timeline, you will see purple bars that mark your Attention Spans. These are periods when you were focused without distractions. The longer your Attention Spans are, the better you are at resisting distractions. - Below the Focus Timeline, you may see red dots below data points where there was noise in the EEG data. Possible sources of low quality data is movement, poor sensor contact with the skin around your ears, or a lot of electrical interference (such as from a microwave nearby). - There is also a space in the Session Summary you to reflect on your session. Use this space to include any notes that will help you remember what you did during the session and what may have impacted your focus. 2. **MyFocus**. The MyFocus page shows you focus metrics from each day and week. - In the day view, you will see the number of Focus Points earned each day and your progress toward your daily goal and a timeline of your Focus Levels throughout the day - In the week view, you will you Focus Points for each day this week and last week and a breakdown of your minutes in high, medium, and low focus for the week. 3. **Insights**. After recording Focus Sessions on 3 different days, you will receive insights on the home screen of the Neurable app. These insights summarize your focus data across multiple Sessions and Days, such as the time of day when you focus best and your longest Attention Span."
Similar to how activity trackers give you data about your movement and sleep to help you make decisions about how often to exercise and when to go to sleep, MW75 Neuro gives you data about your focus. You can use this data to make changes to your schedule, environment, and other behaviors to improve your focus habits and boost your productivity. The best way to start to build better focus habits is to: 1. Each day, set aside time to focus on a single task. The Neurable app awards you points for each minute of focus you record and you can build streaks for recording sessions on consecutive days. 2. Before you start, plan out which tasks you’ll complete during each Focus Session. Neurable app prompts you to write down the tasks you plan to accomplish before you start a Focus Session. 3. Review your Focus Data and reflect on what impacted your focus and what you can do to improve. After each Focus Session, you will see your focus data in a Session Summary screen where you also can take notes on what affected your focus. The Neurable app also offers you insights, such as what time of day you focus best, so you can optimize your day to get more done so you can work smarter, not longer.
Just like you can’t do pushups forever, you can’t focus forever either. Dr. Gloria Mark, one of the leading experts on Focus and Productivity, writes about burnout in her book: Attention Span. In the book, she describes our brains like a gas tank. When you engage in tasks that require you to focus, your gas tank starts to empty. To avoid burnout, you need to refill the gas task. The best way to refill the tank and regain your ability to focus is to periodically take breaks: get exercise, drink water, stretch, and go outside. Playing a game on your phone can also help to refill your tank. Multitasking contributes to burnout. It is like having a leak in your gas tank. The Neurable app prompt you to set a goal before starting a Focus Session. This will help you to stay on a single task and avoid multitasking.
No. MW75 Neuro does not stimulate brain activity or inject electrical signals into your brain. In the same way a smartwatch measures your heart rate but does not try to change your heart rate, MW75 Neuro measures your brainwaves but does not change your brainwaves.
There are 2 ways you can end your Focus Session. 1. You can press and hold the “Hold to Complete” button in the mobile app 2. You can press and hold the Neuro touch pad on the outside of MW75 Neuro’s right earcup If you turn off the MW75 Neuro or if the MW75 Neuro battery is depleted, it will end your Focus Session. The next time the MW75 Neuro connects to the mobile app, your Session Data will be sent to the app.
Chewing, talking and movement affect the measurement. We are checking signal quality throughout and only use data points for which we have high confidence they correspond to brain signal as opposed to other sources of noise. Also, electrical interference such as proximity to microwave can affect the signal.
Accepting a Neurable AI break provides you with a 10 minute timer with a notification to return to work, while pausing your session does not include a timer. Also, did you know that when you take the headphones off, it will automatically pause your Focus Session?
During a session, you may receive notification to take a Brain Break. These can be toggled on or off during a live focus session. You will also receive notification reminders to record focus sessions.
Focus Streaks are the number of days you have consistently logged at least one focus session. Your Streak is automatically incremented on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as we know not everyone needs to work on those days. In addition, you can accumulate Streak Shields on days you record a session to then use at a later date. This is ideal for times when you take a vacation but don’t want to lose your Focus Streak!
After connecting your MW75 Neuro to the Neurable App, tap the blue button labeled “Start Focus Session” on the home screen. On the next screen, type in the tasks that you plan to complete during the Focus Session into the text box (this is optional) and select an activity type (not optional). Then, the headphones will check the quality of the EEG data. If the quality is good, your Focus Session will start immediately. If not, the app will give you guidance for how to improve the EEG signal quality.
As you work, you will naturally begin to grow fatigued. Brain Breaks are the optimal time to pause your work and take a break, such as meditating, stretching, etc, before returning to work. Brain Breaks are recommended based off of the brain signals being recorded through the MW75 Neuro and the processing from the Neurable AI algorithm. Our research has shown that taking a Brain Break helps users maintain focus and feel better rested as they work.
You can record more than 10 hours of Focus Sessions on a single charge. To extend the battery life for a long flight, you can turn off EEG in the app’s setting.
Neurable will never sell your data to anyone.
The MW75 Neuro is currently for sale in the United States and Canada. We plan to ship to other countries in 2025. If you want to place an order but live outside of the United States and Canada, please email us at Support@neurable.com. If we receive a lot of inquiries from a country, we may accelerate our plans to launch there.
Neurable is not recording your thoughts. If an individual thought is like a wave in the ocean, Neurable’s technology records the tides. MW75 Neuro can measure focus because entire regions of your brain react in predictable ways when you are focused, but MW75 Neuro’s sensors are not capable of detecting individual thoughts.
Before starting a Focus Session, the headphones will check the quality of the data from the EEG sensors. First, it checks the quality from the sensors on the bottom half of the ear cushions. If the quality is good, it starts to check the quality of the sensors at the top half of the ear cushions. Checking the top sensors may take 5-10 seconds to validate the EEG data quality. It helps if you remain still during this step. If you have difficulty achieving good EEG signal quality, there are tips in the app and also support resources online.
Attention Span is a metric related to how many minutes you maintained medium or high focus consecutively. The minimum length for an Attention Span is 5 minutes and ends when the first minute of low focus is detected.
Focus Points are a measure of your productivity. For each minute of high focus or medium focus during a Focus Session, you earn 2 Focus Points. For each minute of low focus, you earn 1 Focus Point. The Neurable app sets a goal for you to earn 100 Focus Points every day. When you pass this goal, you receive a trophy. By earning multiples of 100 points, you will upgrade your trophy for that day.
Master & Dynamic built the MW75 Neuro with custom 40mm Beryllium coated drivers that deliver their signature sound in the form of warmer lows and richer highs and a wide soundstage.
If a Focus Session session is shorter than 5 minutes, it will not be included in your focus metrics and will not appear in the app. If it is longer than 5 minutes, the headphones might not have had the opportunity to sync with the app. If you turn your headphones off and on, and connect again with the app, you might see a message that your data is downloading from the headset
When the EEG data is too noisy for a focus measurement, the we will discard the data and the Focus Session chart will have a missing bar. If the data has a little noise in it, which could affect the accuracy of the focus measurement, we label the data in the Session Summary chart with a red dot.
The maximum length for a recorded session is 10 hours.
It can take the headphones a few hours of recorded sessions to learn what are your brain patterns like. If after this initial time, you still see a mismatch between your focus scores and your experience, we invite you to test more drastically different scenarios. One day work with notifications on, a different day, with notifications off. Or you may try with and without a show playing in the background. If under these drastically extreme conditions you don’t see a difference in your focus scores, please contact us.
Reaching 100 points a day helps cultivate your attention skills and consistency in your focus routine. By setting this daily goal, you can gradually improve your ability to concentrate. It’s about creating a habit that reinforces your focus and helps you manage tasks more effectively.
The number in the blue circle at the top of your session summary is the Focus Points earned for that session. To view all the Focus Points accumulated that day, navigate to the Day view under the My Focus tab.
The current MW75 Neuro headphones do not support raw data streaming, however we will soon release the Research Kit, which will provide direct communication with the headset to stream raw EEG data. It will use the Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) communication protocol.
An attention span is a measure of how long you've maintained high focus or medium focus without distractions. Neurable calculates this based on your focus levels. In our distraction-filled environment—thanks to emails, texts, and social media—it's easy to lose focus and time when switching tasks. To improve your attention span, try to minimize interruptions and stay dedicated to your tasks. This practice helps develop healthier work habits and enhances productivity.
We have replacement ear cushions in case any are damaged / ripped. Please contact our support team at support@neurable.com for replacements.
Plan tasks you’d like to accomplish or set a goal for your session! This can be anything from “Read chapter 17” to “Focus on task and don’t check email.” After your session, you’ll be able to view these goals and reflect on your accomplishments and progress.
Yes you can! Open the Neurable App and navigate to the My Focus tab. By default, you will see you Day overview. At the top of the page, toggle to Week to view your Focus Points and Focus Time over the course of a week.
Yes you can record on a plane. After you have completed your first session, which requires a stable Wi-Fi connection, you can record future sessions as long as your headphones are paired to your mobile device via Bluetooth.
Low-quality data can be caused by various factors such as excessive movement or poor contact between the EEG sensors and your skin perhaps due to interference. For each minute of low-quality data, you will see a red dot beneath the Focus Time chart.
You are able to place an order for the MW75 Neuro Smart Headphones directly through the Neurable webpage.
Reviewing data about your focus habits will help you to understand your routines and take steps to improve them. Three of the ways that MW75 Neuro will help you be at your best are: tracking your Focus Score from session-to-session, taking Brain Breaks, and reflecting on your focus performance.
Tracking your Focus Score: Our users have observed that when they wear MW75 Neuro, they are better at managing distractions. When tracking focus sessions, our users became more aware of distractions and improved their ability to resist them. As a result they saw longer Focus Streaks in their focus data.
Brain Breaks: You perform best when you allow time for your brain to recover. Our users love Brain Breaks, a personalized recommendation to recharge. They often felt reluctant to take a break, but when they did, they told us they got a lot more done because of the break.
Reflecting: At the end of a Focus Session, you can review details about your session, including your Focus Score. Sometimes you will have a great session, and sometimes you won’t. And this data enables users to observe trends and optimize their day by changing schedules or trying different routines, such as drinking coffee. One of our product testers figured out the best time for him to drink a cup of coffee is 11am by running a small experiment using Focus Score data.
If you change timezones, simply log out of the app and log back in. Your timezone will automatically be updated.
Master & Dynamic built the MW75 Neuro with custom 40mm Beryllium coated drivers that deliver their signature sound in the form of warmer lows and richer highs and a wide soundstage.
Focus and productivity don’t always map one-to-one. Many tasks, even if not always challenging, need to be done as part of a larger task goal. Other tasks require multitasking to be completed successfully.
The ship date will depend upon when you ordered your MW75 Neuro. We will begin shipping at the end of October and beginning of November 2024.
When we sleep or close our eyes, our brain changes into a mode that reduces our sensitivity to external stimuli (we pay less attention to sounds and light, etc.). This looks similar to how our brain changes to block out distraction when we are focused on a task. We are working to add additional sleep signatures to our algorithm to be able to differentiates these states more precisely.

The MW75 is made from premium materials (glass, metal, leather), has cutting edge audio quality, and active-noise cancellation capabilities. On top of that, the MW75 Neuro is capable of recording reliable brain signals combined with Neurable AI to provide users with insights about tracking their focus and what may affect their productivity each day.
We do not recommend for you to record a Focus Session while charging the headphones. The battery charging process will affect the quality of the EEG data.
Yes, you can pair the MW75 Neuro Smart Headphones with your computer and phone simultaneously, thanks to the multipoint connection feature. Just open the Bluetooth menu on both devices, and pairing should be seamless. This allows you to switch between devices easily!
Neurable will never sell your data to anyone.
Neurable has recorded brain signals from thousands of unique individuals with our headsets, allowing us to build a generalized focus algorithm that was further validated on hundreds of users after development. In addition, over the first few hours of use, the algorithm continues to personalize itself based on your unique brain signals! Neurable uses classic psychological experiments to validate the signals we record with the MW75 Neuro and ensure the data we report to you is genuine and accurate. Read our white paper on what part of this process looked like!
We recommend playing the rocket game for a few minutes to get a feel for how the EEG technology works. During that time, try focusing on the game, but also experiment with relaxing to observe how your brain activity influences the rocket. It’s a quick way to see the technology in action without needing a long session.
You can also use this to demo your MW75 Neuro to your friends and family! Sharing the experience can give fresh insights and show off how responsive the technology is to different levels of focus.
Let us know if you notice anything interesting or have questions as you try it out!
